My Button Collection

It’s so sweet to turn 16!

So after the microphone cupcakes, I was asked to bake cupcakes for a sweet 16. I decided to bake my super moist chocolate cupcakes with faux chocolate chip cookie dough in the center.

And I wanted to add something special to the cupcakes — so I decided to make music notes and g clefs using melting chocolates. With some practice, I got better and better and my chocolate notes became more smoother. A lot of it

And look at what my mom helped me out with! A 3 tier cupcake stand! How awesome does this look?

My pink buttercream frosting didn’t translate as good in pictures. But the pink frosting was pretty bright anyways. And I made my own cupcake wrappers but it turned out to be too much work to resize and glue/staple.

Cupcake tier held all 50 cupcakes!

…haha jasmine you’re such a little jerk!

Halloweenie Cupcakes.

So here are the final products! I made EVERYTHING entirely from scratch — so I feel quite accomplished. Pumpkin spice (with just enough hint of the spices and the pumpkin flavor isn’t too overbearing since I am not a big fan of pumpkin) and chocolate pumpkin (definately a good mixture between the chocolate and pumpkin because you can taste both flavors). I made a cream cheese frosting as well as royal icing for the decorations. It was tough decorating because of the difference in consistencies of the frostings — the cream cheese was a little creamier and was runny (is that a word?) while royal icing had that stiff consistency that hardens very easily. I also used edible glitter gel (the only premade ingredient I had) for some of the decorations. Hope you enjoy!

And I was too lazy to buy Halloween cupcake liners so instead I used up my animal liners with a big monkey face on the bottom! cute. =)

Here are my mummies - like I said before, the cream cheese frosting was very runny and so you can see some of the lines begin to blend in. And yes, my mummies both have a nice smile on their face because they aren’t mean! Other than the blending of the frosting that I think these look pretty good.

Frankencupcake.

I only made two of them and this was the only one I ended up liking. Somehow I keep thinking it resembles more of a Ninja Turtle instead of Frankenstein. HHMMM. Perhaps I should have changed it into a Ninja Turtle and called it a day. And yes, he is also smiling.

Spiderweb Cupcakes.

Now These were the easiest and I think the best out of all of the cupcake designs just because they look so pretty and it took me the least time to decorate! Now all I am missing are the spooky spiders.

Jack-O-Lantern Cupcakes.

How could we have Halloween Cupcakes without Jack-O-Lantern cupcakes?? It’s similar to the ones I made last year for Maya’s visit but I had used royal icing for all of the decorations last year.

I wanted to leave one of them plain as if it was still in the pumpkin patch.

Graveyard Cupcakes.

How awesome did these come out? I used green cream cheese frosting as the base and then crushed some oreos and cut a milano cookie in half and wrote RIP on it with the edible glitter gel. All they need are a little skeleton hand reaching out from the cupcake!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! =)

halloween cupcake preview..

so here’s a little preview of my halloween cupcakes… hope you enjoy them!

They smelled amazing and are so moist — so excited to try one but I told myself to finish decorating them first! And since it IS almost 4am.. I probably should get my sleep on. Enjoy the pictures! =)

Pumpkin spice cupcake. (in addition to the pumpkin I added cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground cloves.)

Chocolate pumpkin cupcake.

pumpkin spice cupcakes + chocolate pumpkin cupcakes = AWESOMENESS.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m usually not for pumpkin ANYTHING but since it’s the season of fall and summer is long gone *teardrop,* I had to try out new recipes. Just openning the oven I can smell the nutmeg and cinnamon — OMG, I was drooling like when I had my cavity filled at the dentist lol. So they’re still cooling but I’ll return with pictures and hopefully with decorated Halloween cupcakes! =)

ps. i know it’s like 11pm, yes i know. I’m that crazy person who likes to bake at night — but the good thing about it is that it’s actually better for your electricity bill because everyone else in the neighborhood is asleep so the electric company isn’t charging you like crazy because it isn’t in high demand! ON SNAP.

Microphone Cupcakes

Check-Check mic 1 mic 2… what does cupcakes, black sprinkles, and sugar cones equal? Pure Awesomeness! (especially for a karaoke birthday party!!).

Eric and I even bought a toy microphone at AC Moore for some inspiration. :)

After you take that first awesome bite - moist chocolate cupcake! (or yellow sponge cake).

Oreo Cupcakes

Sorry I’ve been pretty lazy with blogging but work and applications have been kicking my butt! October 3-9 was Physician Assistant week and so I HAD to bring some cupcakes to celebrate my future profession! …and SURPRISE! Oreo cookie bottom. =)

Been gone for a minute…

So finally here are my chocolate cookie dough cupcake pictures! =)

These actually were very easy and came out so much better than what I expected!
